John and Faithann met 6 years ago and became very close friends for a year before John finally asked her on a date. After dating a couple of years John asked Faithann to marry him while kneeling on a beach in Cozumel, Mexico in March 2012. She said YES!
Once engaged, they toured many venues in the cities but nothing seemed to “just click” until they toured Pine Peaks Event Center and met Dave Peterson. They planned the wedding in just six months! They toured our country estate in August and the wedding was held the following February! They loved how unique the Event Center grounds were in that they could have the farm for a whole weekend for their wedding celebration. They were also excited with the onsite ceremony option in the Pavilion. Faithann enjoyed using Julie’s available decorations to compliment the Ball jars that she had painted and decorated. (They are “paying it forward” and left many decorations for future couples to use! Thanks, Faithann! There are already couples who plan to use them.)
The Groom’s dinner was held on Friday night in the fireside room of the Event Center and was catered by Maucieri’s. The wedding party and family enjoyed gathering and staying in the Retreat House and formed new relationships as well as strengthened old ones.
The wedding day was a crisp blue day in February. The ladies enjoyed getting ready with hair and makeup in the Salon located in the Retreat House. They wore beautiful navy blue dresses with ivory ties to match the bride’s gorgeous dress.
The ceremony was held with family and friends in the Pavilion followed by a reception complete with a hot chocolate bar in the fireside room. This was a big hit! Dinner was later catered by Maucieri’s with a fabulous buffet dinner. Everyone enjoyed fresh bread, Caesar Salad, Asparagus with Hollandaise Sauce, Roasted Garlic Baby Reds, Pork Prime Rib, Chicken Florentine with wine sauce served with fresh steamed spinach mashed potato and green beans. Amazing food!
The group rocked the night away with DJ Craig McCulloch of Mac MC who is an Uncle of the bride. Later in the evening, Maucieri’s made their famous homemade pizzas for the crowd in Pine Peaks Italian wood fired oven.
When asked about their relationship Faithann said “We love and respect each other more and more each day. John makes me feel grounded and safe with his calm and genuine personality, while I keep his life fun and interesting with my creative and feisty personality. The saying opposites attract could not be any truer than with our relationship, and we love it. Although, we do share many, many passions such as cooking together, being active and travel.” (Well stated! Dido on that for Dave and Julie)
The newlyweds bought a house in Andover, MN three years ago and they live there with their loving pooch, Bernie! They celebrated their honeymoon on another beach in Cabo San Jose!
