“Rebecca and Brent’s love story is based on true love for each other, the outdoors and God. Their families have known each other since they were kids. They grew up with similar interests such as church. Although they moved apart from each other, Brent continued to see Rebecca’s parents in church and often asked: “How is Rebecca doing?” After numerous occasions of asking Ruth, Rebecca’s mom what she was doing and apparently liking the answers, Ruth asked Brent last summer, “Would you like her phone number?” He, of course, said yes and the rest is history. Quite a matchmaking team, a mom, and God.

The grounds and Event Center were transformed into a “campfire theme” including a tent, a canoe and a lot of the Bride’s favorite decorations and bears. The newlyweds will be taking their honeymoon in the Boundary Waters this week. We hope they do not come close to real bears in the wild, however, hope they have fabulous stories to tell.
Rebecca and Brent were married in an outdoor ceremony in the Pine Peaks Event Center garden surrounded by a blue sky, flowers, a waterfall, and evergreens. Some of the unique features of the ceremony included friends carrying the canoe in ahead of the Bride. Also, the union of their families was signified with the parents lighting candles and was completed with the Bride and Groom starting a campfire in the Pine Peaks fire pit. This is surely the first of many campfires the couple will share together.

Chef Dewey once again out did himself with a fabulous buffet dinner complete with fresh bread, Caesar Salad and Spinach Strawberry Salad with poppy seed dressing, Green Beans Almondine, and Roasted Garlic Baby Reds. And the entrees were Pork Prime Rib and Maple Leaf Chicken. The Maucieri’s team did a great job taking care of the guests.
